BUSINESSMEN'S ASSOCIATION
The regular monthly meeting of the Taupo Businessmen's ' Association was held on Tuesday, June 10. Various subjects connected with the advancement of the town were discussed. Bus connections with the Wairakei Thermal Tours were discussed from the point of view of the tourist public in order to improve the present time tables. Progress with schemes in connection with the children's play ground and holiday entertainment was reported on by the sub-committee and discussed. The next topic was in eonnection with a circular received from a member of the business community who wished to start up an information bureau. The committee felt that it was a very good idea and although financial assistance could not be given * at this ^early juncture of the association moral backing indeed could be given. Matters of a domestic nature were then discussed and before the meeting ended the secretary reported that so far 34 business concerns had joined the association but there were still several businesses not enrolled for membership.
