MINSTRELSY IN TAUPO

A Pocr Response Mr E. Marsden announces with regret that interest in a minstrel troupe in Taupo was not sufficient to warrant further action in organising one. In America, he says, the minstrel shows are quite colourful both in their costuming and publicity parades. Taupo particularly lends itself to this sort of thing at holiday times. However, he added, the next best thing for public favour might be a fun and frolic sessioir with a

fun doctor in support, and this could be held every day for a fortnight at Christmas, and could be made financially successful. Mr Marsden went on to elaborate his ideas on the subject, and mentioned his satisfaction in noting that the Taupo Businessmen's Association is taking up this matter of providing some entertainment for the holiday crowd.
