Beyond friendly games on the newly-formed green at Taupo there is little to report concerning the activities of the local club. There aye certain loose ends to be tied up, and decisions made concerning plans for next season. These matters were to have been dealt with at a meeting scheduled for Monday last, January 21, and will be duly reported upon in our next issue. Jn the meantime it is due to the commiittee and various voluntary workers to pay a tribute to the achievement of the past year. The difficulties of green-laying have been largely surmounted though some time must necessarily elapse for the ground to set. The new pavilion is approaching completion, and when the ful] programme of preparations has been rounded olf, Taupo will have a bowling green set in picturesque surroundings, and a credit to the community. • Everything that has thus far been accomplished has been the result of voluntary effort, and the total cost to date, it is stated, stands at the extremely modest figure of roughly £250,
