School Committee Meeting.

T|ie ordinary monthly meeting of the Te Aroha District High School Committee took place on Monday evening last. Present : Mr D. McL. Wallace (chairman), Rev. W. C. Blair, Messrs J. Rowe, J. B. Johnson, Ashby, and G. Sherlock (hon. Secretary). Sanitary Matters.—

The Board of Education wrote, acknowledging receipt of Committee’s letter making a request for the installation of a modern sanitary system at the School. The Board’s architect reported that the installation of the water carriage system would be a great improvement on the present method. The Board approved of the architect’s recommendation and decided to proceed with the work as soon as the Council extended the sewer in the street adjoining the School property.—A letter was read from the Te Aroha Borough Council to the effect that the Works Committee had received instructions to continue the sewer drain in Bridge-street, as far as will be necessary to efficiently qrain the School reserve. The work to be undertaken as soon as convenient to the Council.—Resolved on the motion of Mr Ashby that as the Borough Council has decided to extend the sewer pipes up to the School boundary, and which work will be finished early in January, the Secretary write to the Board, urging that the matter be considered at once ; and also remind the Board of the Committee’s willingness to pay a fair proportion of the cost. ' —School Prizes.—

pompittea depided, on the Suggestion of Mr Guyton, the headmaster, to distribute the school prizes at the Childrens Show. Several recommendations by the Committee will be given effeot to. / Accounts : E. Raynor, £2 19s 6d pnd S. Stockbridge, £2 3s 4d, were for payment and the meeting terminated;
