WAITOA DRAINAGE.

PROPOSED NEW DRAINAGE DISTRICT. The following is a copy of the petition received by the Waitoa Drain* age Board at its meeting on Satur* day last, from the Minister for In* ternal Affairs : To the Minister for Internal Affairs.— The humble petition of the undersigned showeth that it is the desire of your petitioners, being farmers and ratepayers on the Waitoa Estate, and within the area marked red on the accompanying plan, that such area be separated from what is now known as the Waitoa Drainage district. Such area comprising about 6,000 acres and delineated as aforesaid, com* mencing at the junction of the Ohine creek with the Waitoa river, thence in a southerly direction along the Ohine stream and along the drain to the northern boundary of No. 2 Road, thence along No. 2 road in a

westerly direction to and including No. 7 Drain, thence in a northerly direction along No. 7 drain to its junction with and inclgding No. 9 drain, thence in an easterly direction along No. 9 drain to its junction with and including No. 1 drain, thence in an northerly direction along No. 1 drain to its junction with the boundary drain at that point where No-1 drain joins the No. 1 outlet provided by the Lands Department through Crown Land, thence in an easterly direction along the boundary drain to the aforesaid junction of the Ohine Creek with the Waitoa river. Such area as described and delineated on the plan to be gazetted a separate drainage area under the title of the Waitoa Central drainage district, and your petitioners, etc., Thomas McQueen, M. C.
