SUCCESSFUL CONCERT

(From Our Own Correspondent.)

The social on Friday evening was a great success. The school-room was filled with people from Waiata, Waihou, Waitoa and Te Aroha. Songs were contributed by Rev. P. Cleary, Messrs E. Fisher, J. P. Culhane, W. J. Batt, Misses Perrott (duet), Miss Swney, and Mrs L. Hunt. The accompaniments were ably played by Mrs Hunt, Miss P. Voysey and Miss M. Fisher. Mr T. Donovan was well to the fore with his cornet solos, which were much appreciated. Mr J. Comerford made an excellent M.C. Mr E. Fisher, Hon. Sec., deserves much of the credit of the success of the entertainment. Mrs Hunt played for the dances, and Messrs Shine aud Curtain and Miss Salt and Miss M. jGisher contributed extras. Rev P. Cleary, in a short address, complimented those present who had worked so hard to make the social (which was in connection with S. Mark’s) such a success, and hoped that the next would be even better. Those present responded by singing “ For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow.”
