Military Training.
Those who organ’srd fhe recent meeting at which the cause of compulsory military training was so s Tenuously advocated do not intend to let the movement die of inanition. The Mayor of Te Aroha, Mr R. L Somers, has written to the Secretary of (he National League suggesting that some prominent Auckland member of the League should visit Te Aroha and address a meeting here, setting before his audience a clear statement of the aims and the work of the L?aguc. If the invitation is accepted the formation of a local branch of the League will be carried into effect at the close of the address. Should no Auckland member of the League be free at present, the formation of the local branch will proceed without outside aid.
The gentlemen who spoke at the patriotic meeting lately held in the Public Hall, it has been suggested, might further their cause by holding meetings at Waihou, Manawaru, and other places in the District. It is quite possible that the suggestion will be carried into effect.
