Waitoa Drainage Board
A mkf.tinu of tho above Board took place in tho Board’n office, Whitakcr-ntreet, yesterday afternoon, at 2 o’clock. Present : Messrs Matthew Henry (chairman), 11. Magill, Miithcwif), Corrigan, and T Bellamy. Minutes were read and confirmed and !corrosDondencc read.
A letter was read from Messrs Kt. Mill and Thompson, the Board’s engineers, advising that Mih plans and specification* of No. I Baud woro hejng sent, under separate cover. Mr Makgill asked hy whose authority tho plans, etc., had been prepared;' The Chairman said ho supposed they had been made in connection with the levels taken of the drain, and for the wan of tho Board should tenders he culled for the work.
Mr Makgill said it. appeared most extraordinary that tho engineers should prepare plans for No. I Itoad in this manner. No further discussion being forthcoming, the plans, etc., wero received. An account for 12<> Mm received from Mr f\ Oilchrist, being £lO Ids duo to him, and the balance being for monies paid in connection with the inception of tho Board.—Several smaller accounts were also approved of, and payment held over in the meantime. There being no further business the mooting '■r minuted.
