CONFEEENCE AT HAMILTON. TriE adjourned meeting of, the Waikato United Friendly Societies’ Conference was held at the Library the other evening, when the following delegates were present: Hamilton Lodge. M.U., lOOF Bros Wilson and Turbott; Te Kuiti Lodge, # Bro. Mitchell ; Morrinsville Lodge, Bro. G. F. Oates ; Matamata i Lodge. Bro. Gordon ; Mamaku Lodge, Bros. A. Pearce and Mercer ; Ngaruawahia Lodge, Bros. Washer and Whitaker; Pride of Hamilton Lodge, U.A.0.D,, Bros E. Hodgekinson and J. I D. Cann ; Te Aroba Lodge Druids, Bro. I Beswick ; Hot Springs Lodge, Bro. W. J Mclnman; Star of Waikato Lodge, 11.0.0. F., A. C. Bros. McDonald and I Bryant; Bechabites Lxlge, Hamilton, | Bro. J. Jebson.

The election of officers resulted as I follows :—President, Bro H. !A. I Whitaker; vice-president, Bro. McI Donald ; secretary, Bro. W. Turbott ; I treasurer, Bro. E. Hodgekinson. The I executive will consist of the above j officers and also Bros. J. D. Cann, J. J Jebson, BryaDt, and S. Wilson. The aims of the Conference will be to I advance the inteiests of Friendly Societiss generally throughout the district, I and the executive have in hand the I construction of regulations which will I confer lasting benefits on Friendly J Society me.mb.eßS. j Various matters were discussed and I delegates present were unanimously of I opinion that much good will result from I this conference. I The next meeting will bo held during I Winter Show week when the committee I hope to> have bye-laws drafted for I confirmation, and various schemes to I present for discussion. The Secretary j was instructed to write to the Minister in I charge, and also the members for WaiI kato, re recent rise in charge at Eotorua I Sanatorium.
