WEDDING.

HOLMES—CARMICHAEL: A very pretty wedding was solemnised at Manawaru on Wednesday, April 21, the contracting parties being Mr W- Holmes, eldest son of Mr Holmes, of Matamata, and Miss Margaret Ellen (Maggie) Carmichael, only danghter of Mr W. Carmichael, of Manawaru. The ceremony, was performed by the Eev. AVm. Blair, of Te Aroha. The bride looked very pretty in a dress of white silk, prettily tucked and trimmed with silk lace, wearing the customary wreath and veil and carrying a beautiful shower bouquet of cosmas and ferns. The bridesmaid,. Miss Holmes, looked very becoming in creme silk. The bridegroom was supported by his brother.. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a gold ring set with topaz, and. to the bridesmaid a gold lace pin with green stoue heart. After the ceremony the toast of the bride and groom was proposed by the Eev. Wm. Blair, after which about 50 guests sat down to breakfast. The happy, couple left by express for Auckland via Thames. The bride’s travelling costume was of pea-cock green voile. The presents were both numerous aud handsome.
