Municipal Election.
NOMINATIONS OF COUN-
CILLORS. A BIgTfIELD. As the time drew near for closing nominations, the interest increased, and what at first appeared to be a “walk-over" for the six found willing to allow themselves to be nominated, turned out just the op posite, for some ten good men and true came forward. Three of the old Council are amongst the list nominated, Messrs Edwards and Johnson are ex-councillors, while the,other gentlemen have ' t had more or less experience on local bodies. The election takes place next Wednesday.
The following are the candidates and their nominators
A. W. Edwards, nominated by R L. Somers and J. B. Johnson.
James Fitzgerald, nominated by C. E. Lamb and A. N igg. Frank H. Hubbard, nominated by R. L. Somers and D. McL Wallace. Henry Jackson, nominated by F- Hubbard and J Robinson. John B. Johnson, nominated by R. L. Somers and A. W. Edwards. George Lovegrove, nominated by J. B. Johnson and John Rowe.
John Rowe, nominated by PBaine and A. -W. Edwards. K. G. W. Lyons-Montgomerv, nominated by D. McL. Wallace and John Rowe.
Thomas Stanley, Senr., nominated by W. Maingay and F. Hub bard.
George Spenoe, nominated by D McL. Wallace and James Fitzgerald
