North Island Band Contest.
GOOD ENTRIES. ■ Hastings, this day • Notwithstanding the trouble which the North Island Brass Band Contest Association had recently, the contest is commencing at Hastings next Monday, and by the number of entHes it compares more than favourably with last year’s contest at New Plymouth. Ten bands will compete in the A and B grades. There are fourteen entries for the quartette competition, eleven for the B flat trombone, twenty-one for the B flat cornet, eight for the soprano cornet, thirteen for the euphonium, nine for the trombone trio, five for the fugel horn, .fifteen for th&E flat bass, four for therß flat bass, fourteen for the BB bass, eight for the G trombone, eleven for the E flat horn, and eleven for the baritone.
