—Stock Sale—

These was a large entry of stock and a good attendance of buyers at the local stock sale on Friday. Judging from, the progress made since the yards were erected, Morrinsvilie is fast becoming one of the principal centres for the distribution of stock.

Mr F. J. Marshall’s recent importation, Carbine’s son “ Campfire,” was out on exhibition and was'much admired by all lovers of the thoroughbred. Mr J. 0. Allen also had his three-year-old son of Gallant Ben (Ben Marshall) out for an airing. He is a splendid istamp of a Clydesdale, and being bred locally is a good sample of the feeding qualities of the district’.

—Fntertainment — The local Entertainment Society intend placing a first-class programme before their patrons at the concert on Tuesday evening next. The farce is believed to be one of the funniest ever seen here. • —Football—v The local footballers had to cancel their match with Te Aroha on Saturday, owing to their not being a ground available The one which has been used is now partly ploughed up in connection with the formation of the roads on Mr Page’s property, and if a move is not /made shortly the publio in general, will have to go a considerable distance out of town to procure a recreation ground. —Masonic Hall — The timber is on the ground for tho Masonic Hall, which is to be erected here shortly.
