Band of Hope.
A MOST successful meeting of the Te Aroha Band of Hope was held in the Public Hall on Wednesday evening last. The attendance was very good, thus showing the interest taken in the temperance movement. Mr Hubbard occupied the chair. After the singing of one of Hoyle’s temperance hymns the programme was gone on with. A pianoforte sole by Miss McCaitney; violin duet, Messrs Sherlock brothers; cornet solo, Mr T. Don v*n ; choius by children, “ Load Gently exhibition by numbers of Gymnastic Club ; recitations by Miss Gates and Mr S.ccomhi •; temper, n e address by Rev. W. C. Blair ; cornet solo, Mr T. Dcnovan.
Miss McCartney presided at tho piano. A number went forward at the close of the meeting and signed the temperance pledge.
