On Saturday afternoon some half-a-dozen members of the Piako Mounted Rifles met on the new rifle range, for the purpose of firing for Wallace’s rophy. The weather was all that could be desired for shooting, very little wind and steady light. Wins have been secured by Quarter-master-Sergeant Devey, Corporal Larney,Troopers Shearer and Cooper, so it is not by any means a walk-over.
