WAIORONGOMAI ENDOWMENTS.
At a meeting of the Thames High School Board of Governors, held on Tuesday afternoon, a comprehensive report was submitted by the endowment visitors who recently proceeded to Te Aroha to go into the matter of the Board’s endowments. Their report was generally unfavourable to the condition in which it was stated that while a few of the endowments were properly farmed the others were not. It was suggested that a man should be employed to report annually as to the manner in which the farms are worked. Various proposals bad been placed before the visitors by the Board’s tenants, but the only one granted was that a rebate, equal to the Govern mept rebate, be allowed for prompt payment of rent. .Regarding the arrears of rent it was decided to take legal action in some cases, while in others the lessees are to be asked to surrender their respective leases.
