Grievances of Railway Servants.

WELLINGTON, This Day, The recommendation drawn up by, a meeting of members of the House in regard to the conditions of service .in certain grades of the railway were presented to Sir Joseph Ward as Minister for Railways, on Thursday, by a deputation consisting of over 30 members of the Government party. The proceedings were not open to the press, but it is understood that the Minister, in the course of his reply, made an important announcement to the effect that it was intended, at WL early date to take a vote of the m* employed in the railway workshops, as to whether they shall come under the operation of the Arbitration Act. He also intimated that it was proposed to improve the-conditions of the men in some of the other classes of the service.
