The Story of the Kelly Gang.

Messrs J. and N. T«it, the well-known Australian entrepreneurs, announce that they will inaugurate the Te Aroha season of one night of the latest and greatest achievement in animated pictures at the Public Hall, on Thursday evening next, when they will introduce that highly exciting and interesting moving picture “ The Story of the Kelly Gang.” The misdeeds of this notorious gang of bushrangers have become an item of Australian history; in fact, very few lawbreakers have acquired such a world-wide notoriety as Ned Kelly and his associates in crime. The faithful representation of the various exciting episodes has caused quite a sensation in Australia, and the picture is I pronounced by a number of people who took part in the chase and the final capture of these criminals true in every respect. It took over six months to complete the series of pictures, and three bioscope cameras were used continually. The whole work was supervised by a gentleman who was connected with the gang’s capture, and who, having a thorough knowledge of all the incidents connected with the life of the gang, was enabled to visit the principal haunts of these criminals, reproducing stirring incidents in a lifelike style. In order to give a faithful replica of the attempt to wreck a train, a special train had to be engaged. The picture denotes the tearing up of the metal and sleepers near the town of Glenrowan for the purpose of wreoking and robbing the special train conveying a gold escort. The box plan is open at Jackson’s.
