Milk Inspection.

BIG GOVERNMENT SCHEME.

The Hon. R. McNab addressed a large gathering of the dairy conference at Palmerston North, on Thursday, on the work being done by the. Department of Agriculture in connection with dairying matters. He intimated that Cabinet had entrusted him with the whole matter of milk inspection all over the colony, but that, in view of the fact that the whole community would reap the benefit, no special tax would be levied. The cost, which was estimated at £52,000 a year, would be borne by the Consolidated Fund.
