Political Reform League.
A meeting of the above League was held in the bandroom, Rowe Street, on Tuesday evening. There was a good attendance, and several new members joined. The annual election of the Executives was held, and all offices were filled.
It was decided to hold monthly meetings on the Monday nearest the full moon. The following resolutions were passed : That in the opinion of this League the Leader of His Majesty’s Opposition in New Zealand for the time being should have the rank of a Cabinet Minister, and rank next to the Premier ; that he be paid £ISOO per annum and have all the privileges as such, with access to all books and papers ; and that a copy of this resolution be sent to the Premier, the Leader of the Opposition, and other members, requesting their support. Reports were received from Aratiatia, Waitoa, and Morrinsville, sta*ing that branches are about to be established there. A vote of thanks to the vice-president and secretary for organising the branch, concluded a very successful meeting.
