A Painful Accident.
BOOTLACE CAUSES FRACTURED TIIIGII.
A very painful accident happened on Tuesday afternoon to Master Rongo Pilling, son of Mr F. Pilling of the Palace Hotel. In company with his cousin he was running down from the Octagon in the Domain, and trod on the bootlace of the elder boy and fell very heavily, and we understand the elder boy fell on top of him. He sustained a fractured thigh bone. Doctors Kenny and Brydon were called in, and it was found necessary to have special splints made, and Mr Wm. Dixon, one of the staff of Mr Wallace, wheelwright, kindly made the splints after work to the description furnished by Dr. Kenny, who set the bone, while Dr. Brydon administered the chloroform. The little boy is doing as well as can be expected.
