’Frisco Mail Service.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
DUNEDIN, This Day.
Dr. Findlay mentioned last evening that San Francisco mail boats being under repair the mail service had been abandoned, and mails would be carried via Suez. No negotiations for a renewal of tbe ’Frisco service were going on at present, but. the company was prepared to negotiate when its vessels were equipped and ready for sea. There was considerable prospect that through the medium of Sir Wilfrid Laurier and Sir Joseph Ward, .a regular service would be arranged via Vancouver. Local arrangements both in Australia and New Zealand are being deferred until it is is seen rtp can be done in London at the meeting of premiers.
