The Cambridge Show.
The fourth annual show of the Waikato Central A. and P. Association held at Cambridge on Wednesday and Thursday last, was most successful in every way, and favoured by fine wearher, on Thursday, the people’s day, there was a large attendance. The excursion run bythe Railway Department from this district was well patronised, large numbers joining the train at Te Ai'oha, Waihou, and Waitoa. The total entries showed an increase over the previous show, particularly in the horse classes, The oattle classes were well maintained and were highly spoken of by the judges, whilst sheep were also well represented. Local breeders were well represented in the horse classes, the following being prize winners -Buggy horse 15 hands 2in and over, Mr R. 0 Allen’s b.g., syra by Merry Boy, bred by Mr P. J. Marshall. For boy’s pony 13.2 aud under, Mr J. O’Grady’s b.g. Tiger, by Merry Boy, gained a first, whilst the same animal gained a second as pcny not exceeding 13 hands, driven by lady: both these wore special classes. Other prize takers were Mr F. J. Marshall’s b.g. Dividend, 4yrs by Leolautis—Sucooss, bred by exhibitor, in weight-carryiug hack over 15 hands and not exceeding 15 2 ; Mr R. Burke’s c.g. Joe, Warrior—Madge, bred by exhibitor, in weight-carrying haok over 15.2. Heavy draught entire. 4yrs and upwards, Mr S B. Graut’s b Royal Tar, Salisbury Pride—Boast Draught colt, lyr and under 2yrs, Mr F. J. Marshall’s b Ben by Gallant Ben. Draught mare with foal at foot Mr 8. B Grant’s b Princess by Bewroro. Colt or gelding, lyr Mr F, J. Marshall’s b.o Bon by Gallant Ben. Mr J. C. Allen’s exhibits secured five prizes in the shoop classes. The parade on Thursday afternoon was a most interesting speotaole, and in the trotting competition and leaping of hunters some fiuo exhibitions wore given. There were four competitors iu the wood- ohopping oompetitiou, Mr D. Pretty, the champion, being includedThe other competitors had a good start, but Pretty was finishing soon after the second man commenced the second side of his log, the result being: D. Pretty l, A. McPherson 2, A. Collins 3. The first prize for lady rider over thioo jumps, was awarded to Miss Hinton, of Morrinsville, whilst Miss Ruby Hinton, in the class for girl rider 6 under 17 years, in divided skirt, gained the yellow yibben.
