Hawkin’s letter allow me to ask him if Jack Grant could not embargo the stones on a workmen’s lien and sell them and pay himself and all expenses. And I alo see in the papers that the climate of the Waikato is in it selfmost acure for consumption. What is the reason, is it because there are so many Pines Insignis trees growing in the district. If that is the case would it not be a good thing if some encouragement was given for planting them.—l am, etc., Semper Idem.
