Cooper’s Biograph Company.
A RECORD HOUSE. There was a record attendance at the theatre last evening, when the above company gave one of their celebrated entertainments. The views were all fairly clear. The many incidents of the dramatised version of “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” were nicely depicted, and the audience were not slow to show their appreciation. The same remarks apply to the interesting pictures of the football match between Britain and New Zealand, and the realistic views of the Russo-Jap. war. The description of the many illustrations was full and interesting, and credit is due to Mr Cooper for his masterful handling of the subjects. Prof, Shel° don’s character sketches and ventriloquial performances created roars of laughter and gained .the hearty and well deserved plaudits of tho large audience. He received great assistance from his talented wife, who as “La Poupee (the doll) greatly pleased the audience with her dancing. One of the principal features of the entertainraentare the views depicting Barnum’s circus in New York, and taken altogether Mr Cooper and his company deserve the great success that is attending their efforts. An entire change of programme [will be given this evening.
