TE AROHA WEST
(Own Correspondent.) The Manawaru Co-operative Dairy Factory commenced opera'ions on Monday, 17 h July, and for the present is going to work every other day, Sunday last, 12th inst., was one of the wettest days we have had this winter. Rain! my word it did come down, a perfect deluge. The weekly meetings of the Te Ar.>ha West Improvement Society are well attended, and a good deil of profit and pleasure is the result thereof We wou.d like to see some of the gentlemen from Te Aroha step over this way and give us a look in occasionally, they could either indulge in a friendly game of draughts or chess, or if they feel so inclined give us a lecture ou astronomy, or some other subject that would in'erest and instruct us. I-was under the impression that this community was clear of sneak thieves. Such, I ivgtet to say is not the case, as there are still some mean enough to jump over two drains on purpose to steal a small pin us iusignus tree. C msidering the time of year the fields appear tc he fairly well grasses.
