OHINEMURI COUNTY COUNCIL

The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Council was held at Paeroa on Thursday afternoon. It was decided to direct the attention of the Minister for Public Works to the damage done by the railway works to various places ou the main Paeroa-Waihi Road, and to request that the damage be repaired at once. On the recommendation of the engineer, the Council decided to lay out more sections in the Paeroa Cemetery. It was also decided to reduce the charge for grave sections and to spend £SO in putting the cemetery in good order. It was decided to make the necessary repairs to Hill Road, at Karangahake. The engineer submitted estimates for a water supply for Waikino, and the Council decided to ask the Government for a grant of £2IOO foi carrying out the work. A special meeting was arranged for Thursday, July 20, to go in*.o the whole question of the Council’s fiuances. l'he manager of the Komato Reefs, Limited, for some repairs to to be made to the road at Kotnata, and it. was decided to have the work done. It was decided to spend the balance of Government giants available for the Komataßoad, Bikutaia-Waihi Road, and Hikutaia-Marototo Road. A grant of £SO was made to the Karangahake School of Mines and a grant of £5 to the Waikino Library. The Finance Committee’s rpport showed the overdraft to bo £7243 8s lid, and accounts were passed for payment amounting to £1499 14s 2d. The Council has decided to apply to the Government for grants for the following purposes :—Mill Road, £IOO Kaimanawa and Komata North Roads, £309 ; Wharikirauponga track, £IOO ; Sedilon Road, Waikino £IOO ; Jubilee Road, £150; Waitekauri Hill track. £100; Cadman Road, Waikino, £100; Netherton Turua Road, £3OO ; old Taurauga Road. £2OO ; Waibi-Wai-tawheta Road. £ 200 ; Rotokohu R >ad £3OO ; Karangahake Hill track £IOO ; Waikino water supply, £2,200; Paeroa bridge. £1000; Komata Creek oad, £3OO • Hikutaia to Paeroa Road £2OO ; Hikutaia'Marototo Road, £2OO Paeroa Te Arolio Road, £200; Komata Station R ad. £l5O.
