In consequence of this the Waikato train, which was duo in Auckland at half-past two p.m., did notprooood further than Merror, whore the passengers had to wait, until three minutes past, three for the train from Rotorua. Tt h d bosn intended to bring tho Waikato train to town with the damaged locomotive, which would hare somewhat, obviated the delay and inconvenience, but it was found that tho engine would not move afror being turned. Evidently the disorganisation of the traffic upset, the postal arrangements, for in his anxiety to look after tho mail hags at NgavunwahU tho mailman of ths travelling post office to Auckland fell off tho train, as she was leaving tho station, fortunately, howover, without sustaining any injury.
