PAEKOA Y. PIAKO. A match between teams representing [ the P mroa and Piako Rugby Uuione 1 was played on the Te Aroha recreation ground on Saturday last. The Pacroa team showed superior play and), eventually won by five points to nil. No score resulted in the first spell, but Hill succeeded in crossing the line shortly after the second spell commenced, which was converted Into a neat goal. Mr E Power acted as referee in a satisfactory manner. THAMES Y. WAIHI. On Saturday the Thames representative football team journeyed to Wa*hi and played a match against the representatives of the Waihi Union. A good deal of interest was taken in the match an Thames had previously defeated Waihi by eleven points to nil, and the up-country supporters thought that on their own ground Waihi could do better. The game ended in favour of Waihi by 3 points to nil.
The New Zealand team defeated Queensland at Brisbane on Saturday last by 17 points to nil.
