Sunday next having been set apart by the Primate as a day for infercos s*on to God in connection with the war, the service at St. Mark’s will take that form. At the 11 o’clock service the volunteers will attend for Church Parade, the preacher will be the Rev J. Campbell.

Mr George Dansey, telegraphist at the local post office, is at present enjoying his annual vacation. His place is filled by Mr Keating, of Waitekauri.
We would remind those desirous of patronising the school excursion to Rotorua, that to day (Saturday) is the las: day on which tickets can be ob tained. This is a grand opportunity for those who have not yet visited our sister sanatorium to do bo. Tickets can be had from the secretary, Mr T. C. Bell, or any member of the committee.
Rev S. Griffith, who has been spending a few weeks with his family at Devonport, returned to Te Aroha yesterday, and will preach at the Wesleyan Church to-mo’vrow evening. The morning preacher will be the Rev W Beckett of Wuihi £'
A grand social will be held in the Public Hall on Peb. loth, in connection with the Patriotic Fund. As Mrs Sinardon has given the Hall free also Thames musicians supplying music free of charge, it should be a means of substantially adding to tLe above Fund. : Children. will be admitted to the Patriotic Fund Concert in the Domain this evening for half price (6d).
At the present time, when war is in the air, anything pertaining thereto is made welcome. It is therefore with pleasure, we herald the advent of the Edison Kinematograph and Co. with their grand patriotic concert, which they intend giving at Smardon’s Hall on Saturday and Monday next. The thrilling living pictures and myrioramic views which have been very highly spoken of in other towns and that wonder of the age the Colossophone, just from America is a marvellous intrument. The Company have been at g- eat expense t > secure the many films, and we trust they will be rewarded with bumper houses un both occasions.
