Ohinemuri Agricultural and Horticultual Society.

"The annual general meeting of the above was held in the Wharf-street Hall on Thursday evening last. Mr G. • A. Burgess presided, and there was a large attendance. It was arranged that the ing Committee visit the Paeroa tradesmen, and the Secretary (Mr Edwin Edwards) reported that he had collected in cash and goods £ll 10s in Auckland. He.had also a gold medal promised by Mr J. T. Ryan of Waitedbuxi.Jtt wft& this be’ allocated by the Committee. / A Sub-committee, was'; appointed to arrange for a show of vehicles, a jumping competition, . a cattle and horse show. Air Ted Short was interviewed and willingly gave his paddock, which is conveniently situated in the centre of the town. Mr Forbes (of -Wright and Co.) takes charge of the proposed Chrysanthemum bhow, which is expected to be held in March. Mr D. Hay, of Auckland, is to be asked to judge the chief fruit, flower and vegetable - exhibits, and Mr S. Buckland the stock, etc. Members of the Association are requested.to pay the annual fee (ss) to-Mr Burgess, Bank of New Zealand, Paeroa, before the 31st inst. This entitles them (and one lady) to Iree admission. There will he no entrance fee for exhibits. The full schedule of prizes rules, etc., will be issued in a day or two, and the. Show will be held on the 21st and 22nd of February. - Any and all particulars may be obtained from the Secretary, Mr Edwin Edwards.
