Volunteer Notes
On Saturday the long deferred match with Paeroa O.R.V. No. 1 will be fired, commencing at 1.30. The ranges will be 500, 300, and 200yds, svenjthots at each. The Paeroa team will arrive by the morning train, returning by boat on Sunday afternoon. There will be a Church parade on Sunday morning, which will be attended by the Paeroa team and Te Aroha Rifles. A good muster is expected. It is not known yet whether the Town Band will p’ay, but probably arrangements will be made with them to do so. The following team will represent Te Aroha:. Sergts. Salmon and Maingav, Corps. Cornes and Strange, Vols. Kerr, Hirst, Strange, McKee. Summers, Forrest. Lieut. Scott and Vol. W A. Biggs emergency. Markers, Jansen and Bew. match should be a vpry close one, as the Paeroa team have been in fair practice, and victorious in all the matches they have fired since they were formed The majority of the Te Aroha team are good steady shots, though many of them are out of practice The younger shots are a very promising lot. and will show up well on the lange. Members of the T.R.V. team shouh, be sharp to time, as the afternoons are very short, . \ '
