Death of Major Kemb.
Major Kemp, the famous Maori chief of Wanganui, died at the Pufciki Pah, ou Friday morning. He had been ailing for a ’fortnight with bronchitis and rheumatism. His age was 75. Deceased was one of the|most powerful allies during the native trouble in the early days. He was a holder of the New Zealand Cross and medal, and was presented by the Queen with a sword for conspicuous bravery and the valuable assistance he rendered./
