The Maine Disaster.
FUNERAL OF THE VICTIMS. Americans" irritated EXPLANATION OF THE CATAS- - TROPHE. New York, February 18, The victims by the Muine explosion were accorded a public funeral, in eluding an impressive display by the Spanish military forces. The theatres in Havana are closed and the newspapers are appearing in mourning borders. The effusive sympathy of the Spanish over the catas-* trophe is irritating the Americans. It is suggested that the explosion of mines laid by the Spanish naval authorities as a precautionary measure in Havana harbour caused the disaster.
