Sir Robert Stout's Retirement.

Though not in accord with Sir Robert Stout, we cannot refrain from endorsing a contemporary’s view of that politician in whose retirement the Chamber has indeed lost a good fighter. But it has lost more. It has lost one of the most cultured and kindly of its members, a man who* whatever his political opinions, was a gentleman to the core, and a warm and sincere friend to everyone who had the pleasure and benefit of his acquaintance. In the lobbies and the library of the House his merry laugh and joke and his valued advice willbe* very much missed indeed. For manythings members of both parties will regret his retirement.
