BAND OF HOPE .
The ordinary monthly meeting of the i'e Aroha Band of Hope was held in the Town Hall on Monday evening. There was the usual large audience, hot only of juveniles .bat; adults. The programme was a good one, varied with music, song and story by members of the society. The meeting opened by singing hymn 46 and prayer by the Rev Norrie. The chair was occupied by Mr Spooner, who spoke or the permanent good results of early training and Band of Hope Work. After which the following programme was gone through :—Song, “ Father Don’t Drink To-night,” Miss Butcher; recitation, * Barbara Fritchi Master F. Copeland; song, Miss Annie .Craig; recitation, Miss Nora Healey; song, Gather Little Children,’ Master Harry Bennett. Mr J. H. Muldoon gave a very impressive address on children’s influence for good. Song, ‘Poor Little Jde,’ Miss Nellie Biggs ; dialogue, Misses Healey and Michael ; duet, Misses Butcher and Allen ; recitation, Master Harry Bennett. At the conclusion of the programme an exhortation was given to those desirous of signing the pledge to do so; flveral responded. •• The- various accompaniments wore played by Misses Maingay and Hirst.
