ORDINATION SERVICE AT THE THAMES.
Thames, Wednesday. The ordination of the Rev J. McKenzie, M.A., took place at St James’s Church to-night. There was a crowded attendance. The Rev T. Norrie, of Te AroV, p-cached the sermon. The Rev R. Somerville, clerk of the Auckland Presbytery, put the ordination questions, and the R v T. F. Robertson offered up the prayer during the laying on of hands, with conclusion of which he. gave a hearty welcome from the and all the ministers gave their newly-ordained brother the right hand of fellowship. The Rev T. F. Robertson then delivered the ordination charge to the new minister, followed by an address to the congregation by the Rev R. Sbmmerville. The members of St. .James’s Church are considered to be very fortunate in securing the services of such a talented minister, ,as he brings the highest recommendations, both from his own people in the South Island and from the University in Edinburgh Where' he finished his .studies. A ; welcome soiree is to be tendered to Mr McKenzie tomorrow evening. -
