SAD DROWNING ACCIDENT

Sydotsy, July 1. the ship Argus from London reports that during a heavy Gale on May* 27th Kelly, the third officer, was washed overboard. The chief officer, who was a cousin of Kelly, with McFinlay, McDonald and Robertson, seamen, and Lindsay, stewart, gallantly volunteered and launched a boat to rescue Kelly They managed to pick up the officer and had almost reached the ship on return when a tremendous sea swamped the boat and all the crew were drowaed.
