Things here are brighter than they have ‘been for some time. Quite a number of New buildings aie in course of erection. The Anglican Church as has already been stated, has had its foundation stone laid, the Messrs Fry Bros, have nearly completed the new Flax mill, which they are to work here, and Mr W. Hogan has commenced his new residence, which promises to be an artistic and commodious dwelling. Four cottages are about to be erected on the road leading to the Railway station. This will be a very great improvement to that part of the township. Cricket is in full swing here at present. The members of the Club meet twice a week for practice. The school committee held their meeting on Saturday evening, the 16th inst. They have nominated Messrs Radford and, Smith for the vacant seats on the Board of Education. The school numbers have increased, the roll number now standing at 51. which shows an increase of 17 as compared with this time last year.
