PUBLIC LIBRARY.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the Te Aroha Public'‘Library Committee was held iu the Reading Room on Monday evening last,, .-Present: Rev F. GL Evans, Messrs A, ? i Menzie, C. Abier* '*■' " f V’

In the absence of the Chairman, Rev, F.-GLEvans presided.; Minutes of the previous monthly meeting were read ana confirmed;

Several members of the Committee said they thought the rent was rather high, considering the dull times, ; Mr Menzie stated that Mr A.-. W, Edwards had redticed the rent -to ss, from 30th June. f: .■>

Mr Munzih said he thought the Library should be open for changing of hooks two nights a week. The'" Committee agreed to take it in turns to look after the books, etc., and it -was resolved that the Library be open lor the issue of books to local residents, on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 7 to 8 P,m.

The Chairman moved and Mr Mills seconded, That Mr Edwards be asked to attend to the Library in case of any visitor or country subscriber requiring a book during the day.—Carried. The following accounts were passed for payment : W. A. Prime, 10s ; A. W, Edwards (rent, six months), L 8 ; W. A. Prime, lls 9*l. Resolved that the meeting stand adjourned to Tuesday, 22nd July, in order that there might be a full attendance of the Committee. This was all the business.
