TOWN BOARD.

The ordinary monthly meetiug of the Te Aroha Town Board was held on Saturday last. Present: Messrs E. (Gallagher (Chairman), G. Lipsey, J. B. Heathcote, and J. Mills. Minutes of the previous monthly meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence: From Mr W. Kelly, M.H.R. for the district, dated Auckand, 16th June, 1890, aa follows I regret 1 could not visit your district before leaving for Wellington, to ascertain personally what you require in the’ way of assistance from Government. I leave by steamer to-morrbw, and would be glad if you would communicate with me there, and post me up in any matter your . district wants. brought ; before Parliament. I am sorry by the Electoral division our connection will be severed, but you may rely upon my.assistance and co-operation with your member, if I succeed in getting a seat in the next Parliament.”—r-Letter received.

From the Property Tax Commissioner, with reference to a subsidy re the Local Bodies Finance and Powers Act, 1885,

and Section 7 of the Appropriation’Act, 1889.- Letter received. j Road Metal : Resolved That the Works Committee call for tenders for the supply of sufficient metal to repair the road between the northern and southern boundary. ’ ' ■ The following accounts; were passed for payment : T.
