DOMAIN BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the Te Aroha Hot Springs Domain Board was held on Mon,day .evening (adjourned from the Saturday previous). Present: Messrs Gavin (Chairman), Ilott, Lipaoy, and Ahier. Minutes of the previous monthly meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence : From Mr W. Kelly, M.11.R. for the district, as follows : , Wynyard Street, Devenport, Auckland, 16th June, 1890, The Chairman, Domain Board, Te Aroha. Dear Bib,—l regret I could not visit your district before leaving for Wellington, to ascertain personally what you require in the way of assistance from Government. I leave by steamer to-morrow, and would be glad if you would communicate with me there, and post me up in any matter your district wants brought before Parliament. I am sorry by the Electoral division our connection will be, Bevered, but you may rely upon my assistance and co-operation with your member, if I succeed in getting a seat in the next Parliament.—Your obedient servant, Wit. Kemec. To this letter the Chairman had replied under date 26th June, stating the Board would esteem it a favour ir Mr Kelly would represent to the Government their present impecunious position, and try and obtain a grant of Ll5O, tlie Board at present being in debt, etc. [This indebted ness has been incurred through erection of e new bath house over Rie sulphur spring, excavating in connection with No. 5, and HJ-erection of bath house at the latter spring, etc; .; which expenses had absorbed all surplus monies in hand, whilst the receipts for the winter months were not equal to the expendituie.] No reply had been received from Mr Kelly. The Chairman said lie saw no way out of the present difficulties- except by obtaining an overdraft of LSO, to carry them (iverdhp winter-months. .- Member Leaving: Mr Ilott informed the Board that lie would be leaving Te Aloha I 'shortly, and did not expect tn be at the next monthly meeting. He, purposed visiting Te Aroha again, however, after a short time, and as lie should probably be 'able to attend tlie second qr thin;! monthly meeting of the Board, be did not purpose tendering Ills resignation just at present. :Thls was all the business...
