UNIONIST DEMONSTRATION.

BALFOUR ON TEMPERANCE LEGISLATION. London, June 29. An imposing Unionist Demonstration has taken place at the Crystal Palace. Mr Balfour, who was one of the prominent speakers, ridiculed the idea put about by the Opposition that the Government were tottering to their fall. Ho stated that the temperance party would regret that their fanaticism had succeeded in destrqying the licensing clauses, becauso the unreasonableness of the stand they had taken would effectually prevent statesmen from making any future efforts in the direction of temperance legislation.
