MATCH AGAINST NORTH OF ENGLAND. London, June 28. In their first innings tho North of England Eleven were all disposed of for 148 runs. The principal scorers were : Shrewsbury, 37 ; Hall, 29 ; Sugg, 16 ; and Briggs, 21. Ferris took five wickets for 31 ; and Turner five for 48. The Australians had lost five wickets for 58 in their second innings when play was stopped. Lyons, 11 ; Trofct and Ferris, 10 each ; Barrett, not out, 20. The wicket was slow and treacherous. Play was abandoned owing to rain, and the match was declared drawn. Spofiorth will play for Derbyshire on Monday against the Australians.
