Morrinsville.

(From our own Correspondent.) Morrinsville, Monday. A meeting of those interested in the formation of a football club in this district was held in the Nottingham Castle Hotel on Saturday last. There was a fair attendance, some twelve or fifteen local residents who are interested in the proposal being present. Mr Fred. Horrell was voted to the chair, and briefly explained Lite business of the meeting. An estimate of the number of probable members was made, and the meeting being of opinion a fair team could be placed iu Ihe field it was resolved : (1 . That a football club bo formed ; (2) entrance fee to be lialf-a-crown ; (3) ihe club’s colours to be blue and black. Officers were then elected as follows : Patron, Mr Mark Harrison ; President. Mr 11. J. Clifford ; Vice-President, Mr F. J. Marshal 1 . ; Captain, Mr N.Mson ; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr Spencer Marshall ; Committee, Messrs A. Forrest, J. Morrissey, and T. Reed. The Secretary was autluoised to obtain jerseys for tbe members, football, etc., also several copies of the rules of football. It was also resolved to have an entertainment and dance in July, proceeds to augment the funds of the club. The Chairman in closing the meeting referred to the complaints made by many of the roughness of the game, and expressed the hope that ‘ Morrinsville ’ would set a good example : n humaneness and give their adversaries no occasion to complain. A vote of thanks to tha chair brought the meeting to a close.
