WAHAROA.

[From our own Correspondent.] Waharoa, Monday. On Friday evening last a dance took place in the Waharoa school house, proceeds to be devoted towards the cost of purchasing a supply of lamps for the school house. There was a fair attendance on the occasion, and during the evening several of those present favoured the company with songs ; one by Mr A. Tindall being very heartily encored. Messrs W. Hill and M. Barker kindly gave their services as musicians on the occasion. On Saturday evening last the monthly meeting of the Waharoa Band of Hope was held in the school house, Rev T. A. Norrie presiding. After opening the meeting the Chairman delivered a short address, and the following programme was gone through, each item being well delivered and favourable received : Recitation, The Old Hermit, Mies Lulu Brown ; recitation, Do Good, Miss Martha Hill ; recitation,Mrs Ross; recitation, A Song of the Sleigh, Miss Emily Brown ; song, Remember Me, Mr Bryant ; recitation, Dare to Stand Alone, Mies Bessie Brown : reading, One of Three, Mr Bryant; song, Snowflakes, Misses 8., L., and E. Brown : song, The Teetotal Car, Mr Bryant. After singing a hymn the Chairman closed tbe meeting by pronouncing the benediction.
