A PROMISING JUMPER.
Auckland, the winner of the Egmont Steeplechase on Wednesday, is a halfbrother to New Year. He was sired by Traducer’s son Natator, the Canterbury Derby winner of 1878. Auckland is only four years old, and those who saw him race at the meeting, predict him a successful career at the jumping game. He was trained by R. Wheeler, and I see his name figures amongst the Great Northern Steeplechase entries.
