The railway revenue returns of the eleven months, bo the Ist instant, show receipts to have been £887,607 14s 7d as compared with £998,699 6s 7d for the corresponding period in the previous year. The expenditure was £620,513 4s 2d, as against £591,247 8s lid in the previous year. The percentage of revenue for the eleven months in question was 63'59 against 65'07. The passengers carried were 3,092,315 being an increase of 215,414 oyer the previous eleven months. In addition to these 11,221 season tickets were issued. Parcels, etc., carried showed 374,067, against 368,512; livestock, 948,469, against 834,356 ; goods, 1,873,928 tops, as against 1,764,966 tons, Minerals show a Decrease of 15,141 tons, Railway returns for tho four weeks ending March Ist show North Island receipts to have been £29,677 10s 9d, against an expenditure of £20,017 2s lid. South Island receipts for the same period were £64,113 15s, against expenditure £37,400 7s 4d. The returns from the province were: —Kawakawa : Receipts, £322 13s 3d; expenditure, £l2 4s 4d. Whangarei : Receipts, £247 2s 7d ; expenditure, £157 17s 10a. Auckland': Receipts, £8,527 18s lOd ; expenditure, £6 178 4s 2d. ‘ ’
