TE AROHA SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The usual monthly meeting of the Te Aroha School Committee was held on Monday evening last, Present: Messrs Ilott, Heathcote, and Menzie. Mr Ilott was Voted to the chair. Minutes of the previous monthly meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence: From Board of Education, stating that capitation allowance for the half year ending June 30 ; £l2 10s, less £4 4s 9J deducted on account of amount due by the Committee on account of their proportion of cost of painting t e school building and teachers residence (net £8 5s 31), had been placed to the credit of the school fund at the Bank N.Z., Te Arolia. The head teacher reported requiring 30 additional pairs of Indian clubs, and had forwarded a requisition to the Board of Education for same. In his monthly report the head teacher stated the number of scholars on the roll had now reached 190 ; average attendance, 151. (This is the highest number on the roll since the school was opened), Rev S. Lawry and Mr Ilott were appointed Visiting Committee for the month. The following accounts were passed for payment : C. E. BaJcke (1 dozen slates and cash book), 6s 9d ; W. A. Prime (oilcloth), 3s ; Mrs Erasmus (cleaning), Ll 3s 4d.
