OTAMA GOLDMINE.

Auckland, Feb. 24. To-day, a special general meeting of those interested in the Otania gold claim, in the Kuaotunu district, was held at the office of the secretary, Mr J. M. Cameron, New Zealand Insurance Buildings. There was a full attendance, and Mr G. \V. Alison presided. After some discussion it was resolved to form the syndicate into a public company, with a capital of 4,800 shares, of 10s each, nil paid up. A directorate consisting of five shareholders was appointed, comprising Messrs E. YV. Alison (chairman), J. Mays, E. M. Coleman, YV. H. Fenton, and YV. H. You'-g. Mr J. M. Cameron was appointed legal manager, it was an instruction to the directors to draw up the articles of Association and register the Company under the Goldmining Companies Act. Mr H. Rowe was appointed mine manager. Mr Rowe submitted a report to the shareholders on the present state of the claim, and the work put in it since commencing to work it on October 17th last. There are several known reefs in the mine, which have not yet been worked on, but have given very fair prospects where cut in the trenches. It is proposed to take about 100 tons of No. 2 reef to the Thames for treatment in a few days.
